get’cher skis shined up, grabba stick of juicy fruit

I’m knee-deep in the 80s right now, folks…Cabbage Patch dolls and God’s Eyes (what?!) from church retreats and laser tag outfits and Ewok stuffed animals and Grandma’s china. It’s pretty hilarious. When I locate the camera, I shall document the absurdity. You may claim anything you want…or at least wallow in memories with me.

For today, shall give you the sweetest story of all time:
Curt’s conversation with a 4 year-old

backstory: the day before Easter, we stopped by Bill and Stace’s to see the family. A hot air balloon appeared out of nowhere and began to search for a place to land. Curt scooped up the girls (Hailey-7 and Marli-4), threw them in the 4-Runner, and he and Bill (no shoes, no less) took off to chase it down. It was a roaring success, as they tracked it to a field and got to see it land and hold the ropes and talk to the people inside the basket. Apparently, the experience left quite an impression…the next day at Easter dinner Marli snuggled close…

“Uncle Curt! I dreamed about the balloon last night! It landed on an alligator in a river!”
“It DID? And was there fire like yesterday?”
“Yup. And you were there! In my dream! Did you see me?”

This…this is why I will have children.

yeah… i like this conversation much better than I like the one I had with my eight year old today…

“… and she was acting all sexy and stuff…”
“Oh she was? Really? What do you mean all sexy?”
“You know, she was wearing a tight shirt and showing off her legs… if you know what I mean…”
