It’s Christmas time…

And, what’s Christmas without a goat in a bandana?
May I present Miss Ruthie in all her Christmas cheer.
We are anxiously counting down (6 days to go!) until we fly to Texas.

And now for a little Sunday night reading with Daddy…

The classic, Make Way for Ducklings, was our choice tonight. You can see that she was very concerned about where the ducks would live in the beginning…found the trip through town to be hysterical…and was well pleased with the ending.
Please note she’s in her “back up” outfit. This is the aged garage sale onesie
you buy and stash in the bottom of the diaper bag in case of emergency.
We had just such an emergency at church today as the child literally
pooped pea-green poo through one diaper, peed on her father, and
then pooed through 2 more diapers while she was being changed.
It was fantastic.
Otherwise, we are doing well. Ry is still learning to eat but doing better with every feeding. A trip
to the lactaction consultant Friday confirmed that everything is working correctly…she’s just so
laid back that she could care less if she eats. Lately (as I mentioned above), we’ve had an extreme
rise in the number of poo diapers which indicates a rise in calories (yahoo) which should translate
into weight gain soon enough. She’s still not back up to her birth weight, but we’ve been comforted
by everyone we’ve talked to with similar stories and fears and successes.
I think she’s going to make it.
A trip to my OB to check my surgery stitches and such revealed (literally) that
everything is healing famously and that nothing was inadvertently sewn together
during the c-section. She promised nothing would open back up if I laugh too hard-
everything should stay nice and closed for a long time.
Thank Goodness.
Happy Monday to you all…talk to you soon.

Loved the picture of Ruthie…and the poo story! I’ve been there, so I felt justified in laughing out loud. “This too sahll pass.”
