giddy up

Well, howdy, y’all! We took a little break from the internet and went to Texas…all of it. Y’all wanna see anything in Texas? We can take you there. Longhorns? Sure. The Alamo? You betch’a. Horses? Goats? People in cowboy boots? Easy. Rylie got a travel journal for Christmas, and we have already filled 2 pages. From Ft. Worth to San Antonio, we did it…and she loved it. This kid loves to move. She even put on her first dress and went to a wedding at the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. Grandpap found her a hat- is she not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?

I spent the better part of Christmas and the next 2 days wearing my winter coat inside and flat on my back with a flu-somethin’-or-other. Something in my body recognizes our driveway and everything starts to shut down. But, if you’re gonna get sick, it’s nice to be by yer mamma.

We also spent some quality time reading…Grammy and Grandpap put their favorite books on cassette. She loves to be read to. She cried through Pap’s story…he’s still a little upset about that.

Northern family and friends…we’ll see you soon. We head home January 1st…and then it’s back to the real world. Time to make curtains and by carpet and get this kiddo on some sort of healthy schedule. We sure did enjoy seeing everyone this past week…it will be hard to leave. But, we miss Abe and the quiet of Texas North. Time to settle in and get back to livin’ our simple life…we’ve been movin’ and groovin’ since Thanksgiving.

Happy New Year!

Buckle up. We’ll have more pictures up soon. I’ll find my sense of humor again, too…as soon as I shake the rest of this cough.
