Chickens AND cows!

JUST kidding
*te-he-heee*
But aren’t these leg warmers Rylie Jayne sent Rylie Joy just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? They’re cows! Rylie Jayne has giraffes. SO cute. I’ve been working on a k-nitted version…with a little flare and eyelet at the bottom…to sell in the still-hypothetical shop. These will be Ry Girls because they’re just too cute to part with. I see this being a problem in the future, but we’ll deal with that later. Thank you SO much, Rylie Jayne. We love LOVE love our new baby legs.

Must type fast. I feel the stomach flu creeping over in my direction. Curt has been laid up since last night and is currently looking very pathetic in our bed. I can feel my stomach starting to churn. This is not good.

The chickens are stinkin’ hilarious. I love them. Here’s half of the inside of their coop…they are very happy in their new home. I found 2 brown eggs yesterday- a good indication that we didn’t scare them to death by wrangling/tackling/herding/flat-out chasing them into a pen and then into the coop the other night. I wish we’d had that on video. I nearly peed my pants. The story even elicited a chuckle from my Pap when I added the appropriate sound effects, if that’s any indication. It’s super rainy here right now, so I’m gonna leave them in there for a couple days and let them settle in.

Rylie Girl is fast putting the NUT in Peanut. The girl is funny. She’s quite the mover now- I can barely keep her on the changing table what with all her twisting and grabbing. She’s got this one move…I call it the reverse inch worm…where she flips over onto her back, digs her heels in, and scoots forward (backward? head first) all around her crib and play pen. Oh my LANTA. My other fav is her new nap time routine where she lies down on her belly…then lifts her head (complete with orange pacifier) UP up UUUUP to peek at me leaving…then quick down. UUUUUP aaaaaaannnd … down. Updown. UUUUUP annnnnnd down. Updown Up down Updown … 40 times until she is overcome by the sweet lullabyes sung by birds outside. I love that kid. I’d guess she’s easily over 12 pounds and still nice and long. We go back to the doctor soon and I’ll be excited to have some real numbers for you guys.

And now…I must lie down.
I must rest and prepare.
I must nip this illness in the bud.
For, tomorrow, you see…I am headed to Calvin to see a lady I adore.

*sigh*
Bliss.

Happy weekend to you all and to all a good night!
Omlets at our house Sunday morning!

When you DO set up shop we will surely buy those eyelet baby legs….SO VERY PRECIOUS! Rylie Jayne wanted Rylie Joy to have the cows for her future farm endeavors… Thanks be to Gracie for giving us our first pair. We love them at changing time!

Look at sweet baby girl in her worm onesie! I just love those things – Sam here has the same one but in blue with a bee and a beehive. Thank you, Old Navy. 🙂
I love that you put her in so many hats. Please find your red camp hat and try it on her ASAP. She would rock that thing, absolutely… (And don’t drown in the rain – Dad’s in the Big Mitten right now and all he says is “rain rain rain!”)

My friend Alex just saw Patty Griffin play tonight… I think in Ann Arbor, though, since that’s where he lives. Enjoy!

I hope you don’t get the belly bug.

Gracen would like to commission a pair of the leg warmers as well. I wouldn’t mind having some for myself, but that might take a little too long to k-nit. Gracie says thank you to Ry for the kiss. She would give her one back, but she’s too busy throwing the phone across the kitchen.
