’tis the season

I am nothing if not honest. I am not a ‘Christmas music all year-round’ kind of gal. I lived with one of those for many years… but she did not convert me. I am also stubborn. Christmas after Thanksgiving. That’s my rule.

I am also a teensy bit random. It’s gonna rock my traditional boat, but I can take it. A few of you have emailed and commented on the possibility of me helping you with some presents for the holiday season (we shall call you ‘the overachievers’). Yes. I would love to help you. Absolutely. I just need a ballpark idea of what I’m looking at so I can be realistic with my time and promises.

And to add to your options, I’d like to let you in on a secret that’s been in the works for a while now.

They’re organic.
They’re from Texas.
They hold 25 pounds.
They’ll be less than $25.

They’re illustrated by the beautiful Cortney and printed by yours truly. Seriously. You can’t go wrong. The photo to your right shows a bag already printed, but the ones from TexasNorth will be available with any of Cort’s 12 farm drawings on them… printed and/or embroidered. ARE THEY NOT SO AWESOME? Price and drawings are being fine-tuned (I don’t know what the company is going to charge for my bulk order yet), but I’ll let’cha know.

If you think you’d like to order an organic market bag, a cotton market bag, banners, or anything else you’ve seen me talk about here, I’d love for you to let me know by October 1st. As an incentive: no charge for shipping on early-bird orders! Fa-la-la-la-laaaaaaaa-la-la-la-la. Get those lists a-goin’! Send me an email [katiemulderATgmailDOTcom] and we can talk in secret. No need to spoil the surprise in the comments. (I am also old-fashioned.)

The linen dress photos are from a ridiculous photo shoot with a 21month old I know. Please note the Sloppy Joe decorating her nose. Have you ever tried to wipe this child’s face? It’s like asking me to be brief. It’s like asking John to move the island. It’s like… well, you get the picture. Ellie, I put in a zipper. Don’t look too closely. I didn’t follow the directions. But, it functions and I may have danced around my kitchen with First-Time-Zipper-Achievment glee. Twice.

Monday is Labor Day. Take a load off. The Mulder family is headed North to camp again and make more laundry. I’m not gonna lie. There’s still laundry downstairs from 2 weeks ago. I. Am. Awesome.

john did move the island, didn’t he? our internet went crazy when we were trying to watch that episode. maybe john did something to my computer, mmmm? i have to resist Christmas come this time of year. I wait until after t-day too, but that is just to make Worth happy. I would have a Christmas tree up year round if I could. Are the knit market bags insane to make? I just want one, only one for my momma (pleasepleasepplease), but those new market bags are AWESOME!

Does she have a barrette in her mouth? did she get a haircut too? Oh I love the little dress and the bags. go Team. cort is a fabulous artist isnt she.

I sewed a zipper in Red’s bed last week.(i made her a slip cover) I didn’t think it would be so hard. Half is right half is not. Oh well its just the dog right!

  • KatieKate

Yep. That’s her clip in her mouth. No haircut… just a wild day.

They knit market bags aren’t difficult to make… I just sew a lot quicker than I knit šŸ™‚ And I think I’ve reached my limit for the next couple months. But Sunday, you’re totally in. Yo Mamma is all taken care of.

  • CortneyTree

    Aww, thanks Jess šŸ˜‰

There’s a farm dog and a couple barn kittens I haven’t added to that flickr set yet (just in case anyone counted and decided we were clearly missing something). These bags are going to be so awesome, I’m very honored to be collaborating with Katie!

Don’t forget the chocolate covered cherries, and the cherry salsa, and the triple cherry granola and the cherry wonderbar! Oh, and hit up Money’s for breakfast in Honor. Soooo great breakfast grub. And, if I could be so bold, can I come? šŸ™‚

    Have a wonderful weekend.

zipper shmipper. . .looks fantastic. But now you’ve got me thinkin’ to myself that I’m a slacker b/c I haven’t even thought about my kids’ Halloween costumes, let alone what I’m going to make them for Christmas. Which, btw, I toally agree: comes AFTER Thanksgiving. Very, very cool bags.

  • Julie

Love the dress. I agree with Becky on this post having that extra zing to it. It always makes me chuckle when you talk about your laundry. I feel exactly the same way.

  • Chelsey Meek
