I took my baby to a bar Friday. She loved it.
The Cotton Club in Granger is a family favorite… and I do mean ‘family.’ Curt requested a little dancing while he was in town and so we stretched Ry’s bedtime out to 9:30pm and headed out. [Hello, I’m pregnant and wear horizontal stripes.] The band finished their first set at 9pm, so it was perfect. I really wish there were places like this in Grand Rapids… a fun place for a live band and a little dance floor for some two-steppin’. Can’t beat it for a Friday night of good, honest fun. Maybe I should do something about that. When the Red Barn goes back up, it may need a small stage and a polished wood floor.
ANNNND, there’s been some 4-wheeling. Baby included. She’ll make you stop if the baby’s not on board. She’s going to be a great big sister. I was going to say we’ll have to teach her about appropriate activities for babies, but I guess we kinda blew that in the first paragraph.
We’ve also been diving through the attic for all the old Fisher Price toys. Barns and blocks and kitchen pots and… then, in pieces, came Rocket… the magical spring horse. The most dangerous and awesomest toy ever. With $2 worth of new springs and a quick wipe down, Rocket dropped 49 of his 50 years. He’s squeaky and jingly and really just the best thing ever. Can you see why her middle name is Joy?
Happy Weekend, Folks. Tune in Monday for a TexasNorth Christmas giveaway 🙂
