roundup

Alright.

We’re going to make it.  That first week home was a killer for me, emotionally.  Whew.  Gus is starting to even out, or I am gaining strength and confidence, or some magical combination of the two… and we are better.  Thank you for the perspective… and the commiseration.  It’s nice to know others are out there with one sock on, too.

It’s been awhile since we talked about the Farm… I have some new ladies to introduce!  Our Mamma Herd has expanded and all are expecting calves in the next month, so we are gearing up for some seriously exciting times.  Here are the new ladies:

  Belinda (born 1999)

 Bonnie (2006)

Sugar & Spice (2003), daughter of Belinda

Barbie Doll (2008), daughter of Belinda

We were presented with the opportunity to buy Belinda… a beautiful Mamma who has beauuuuuutiful calves with long eyelashes.  She’s an older gal but is an amazing mom.  Sugar could be her twin, color-wise.  We love the red in both of them and are excited to add that to our mix.

So, for anyone counting, that’s 4 foundation cows (Ellie, Jill, Belinda, Sugar), 2 junior cows (Bonnie and Midnight), and 2 young gals (Barbie and Twilight).  Twilight is not expecting a calf this year… we’re gonna give her another summer of freedom 🙂  The other calves are due soon!  Plan to come out and visit!

Happy weekend to y’all!
