postcards from Texas

The Mulder family is off the farm this week visiting KatieKate’s motherland of Texas.  I’ll be posting postcards every day this week!

About texasnorth

TexasNorth is a little farm in Western Michigan. It's home to 5 chickens, 25 longhorn cattle, a coonhound (Banjo), 1 barn cat, a husband, and 3 ridiculously funny children. The mom of this zoo has been known to mow the lawn in a skirt and roast marshmallows after dark. View all posts by texasnorth

the most beautiful indeed. when i lived in Spain, i used to make people send me pics of the bluebonnets every year because i missed them so much. there is nothing like it anywhere else.

Third try on this comment (grrr). First: Did you take this picture, Katie??? I have tried and tried and tried to capture the essence of the Texas state flower, but have badly failed. And here you go, with this award-winning snap. Second: Somehow, some way (I chalk it up to daily cups of Theraflu), I missed these postcards.

But before I continue, let’s see if this baby posts.

WordPress is messing with me a bit…but I’ll continue: The picture that twists my heart into slippery, achey, happy knots is the smiling shot of Abby June. I could have held here – yes, I could have! – but we were too sick, too tired, and too in pajamas all day to make it. But we’re up for a re-do; all efforts will be undertaken to make it.
