Lainy and Max and Jo brought some sunshine (in theory) and happiness on Tuesday (PLEASE. The girl has no pants on and my muck boots.), but since they left it’s been nothing but snow and 30mph winds and 25˚ temperatures. We wanted Spring. We wanted grass. We wanted trees budding. We wanted robins and bluebirds. We wanted picnics and kites and jellybeans and frolicking. *sniffle* Abe is sad. The house is sad. I shall forego a photo here as to not incriminate my lazy self. Mamma is sad. Again no photo, but will say I spent all morning yesterday and part of the afternoon in navy blue sweats, a bright yellow ARMY t-shirt, red fleece socks all covered up with a zip-up purple robe. Stick that in your mental picture bank and give it a whirl.
Rylie…whose Native name is “she who is covered in snot“…she is NOT so sad. She is reading. The irony of her outfit today is obviously not lost on her. She makes me laugh so hard. There’s a new video over at YouTube of her “reading.” I warn you, it’s a video only grandparents and those deeply devoted to the extreme cuteness of my child can love. I mean…1.5 minutes of a 4 month-old “reading”? Please. [added 3.5 seconds later: Pap, it’ll be there. You have to give it a second. Sheesh.]

Curt is also not so sad as the weather has allowed him to work inside on the tile at the back door and front entrance. Those of you who have visited the Shoebox will smartly register that the distance from the front entrance to the “back” slider door is about 25 feet. It’s a
Happy blustery EASTER weekend to you all!
I’m going to Bombay with Laura. Bring on the curry.
There may be yarn therapy involved afterwards.

Our house is small too. (check out the picasa pictures)only difference is my husband talks of the tiling and has yet to do it. Sweet man has big dreams but lack of motivation to do them..but only when it comes to th house that is 🙂

I’m jealous of you both and your small houses, because at the moment Matt and I are straddlin’ two houses, neither of which we plan to live in, and frankly the limbo is driving me nuts. Pray that I get mine fixed up and sold soon after the wedding, so that we can move on to “our” house and do away with all the “yours” and “mine”. Small and cozy–it’s a dream come true when half your stuff’s across town.
Also, I cannot begin to express my love for the “I Can’t Read” onsie (onesie? 1-sy? can you tell I’m not a mamma yet?) Anyway, I dig it. 🙂

see the funny thing is that you and jessica cannot talk about small houses where ours is hovering just at 1000 sqft. if i have done bath correctly that means that you (katie) have 1/2 a more house then we do. now who is sad? :). you make our cold day here sound like we are at the beach. i mean it is 50 here and we are all bundled up. come down if you want. curt did a great job on the tile. worth has been a tile man as of late, but not at our house at his sister’s. it is beautiful though.

gracie just fed rylie a cheerio on youtube, after discussing some literary interpretations. did she enjoy it?
April 5th, 2007 at 10:31 pm
Immensely. Rylie enjoys all virtual food. She’s such a sweet girl, that Gracie.
I have to say, I am a huge fan of the small house thing. I’d love a porch and a swing outside, but I’m really fine with the minimum on the inside. This may be a testement to my poor housekeeping skills and/or desire.

oh and Sun…
the total is 1800…I know, a monstronsity. But half of that is a cement basement that houses, well, boxes. and some tools. and a washer/dryer. I go down there once or twice a week because right now it’s stinkin’ cold.
April 5th, 2007 at 11:54 pm
1800 you are in a mansion!!!! we do have a great deck though so that should count for something. hey what is the name of that website that you are going to sell your stuff on? i got a really great blanket for my shower from there. you would probably like it too. it is camo pink. it was more for worth. it is SO soft!
April 6th, 2007 at 12:27 am
Rylie reminds me so much of Ruth at that age, with all her “reading” and “talking.” I just love it!
April 6th, 2007 at 1:19 am
I agree 1800 is mansion ours just meet 1300!
I am very impressed with Rylie Joy’s reading skills. Rylie Jayne loves her books too….she loves to lick them and put them in her mouth that is!

The website is http://www.etsy.com and you can find THE coolest handmade stuff there: clothes, bags, artwork, blankets, magnets, ANYTHING. And you may shop at will…by color, by seller, by anything. I highly recommend supporting these folks for all your shower, birthday, and hiloday gift-giving needs.
Of course, when MY shop goes up, you may only buy from ME.
thank you and good night

I think you sent us your weather.
And although I didn’t really want to.. I guess I will go skiing.

Bombay was divine. And I must not be much of a guiltmonger, because my little song and dance didn’t work. Boo. I passed on Kristin’s message that Jesus would be disappointed in him, but no dice…
I’m going to eat a peanut butter egg now. Peace out, girl scout.
